Helmi's WM6 for Sprint must have all the cabs in the oem. This is my ExtRom and it works fine:
LOCK:Enabled
SHOW:\Extended_ROM\Sprint_Logo.bmp
CAB:\Extended_ROM\TimeSync.sa.CAB
CAB:\Extended_ROM\tcpmp.pocketpc.0.72RC1.cab
CAB:\Extended_ROM\PocketCM.cab
CAB:\Extended_ROM\GoogleMaps.CAB
CAB:\Extended_ROM\SkypeForPocketPC.CAB
CAB:\Extended_ROM\Money2006.cab
CPY1:\Extended_ROM\AddContact
CPY2:\Windows\AddContact
EXEC:\Extended_ROM\AddContacts.exe
LOCK:Disabled
RST: Reset

Hi. I would like to understand better what I am doing here with respect to extended ROMS, etc. First of all, where does the extended ROM live in the file structure -- I would like to see what is in it even before the update? Also, how do you lock or unlock the extended ROM? Is there any documentation as to what goes where on these devices -- ROM VS. extended ROM vs installed software?

I find this process really interesting and I thank in advance all the folks who looked at these things with hex editors, ec.

Have fun.

Aliant would use the original Bell ROM

Look for the Bell Mobility ROM File:

Bell Mobility ROM seems to be all optional

Resetting phone while it begins to 'install carrier customizations' has no negative effect as far as I can see. Data connection is set up by dialling #777 with the username being '<your 10 digit phone number>@1x.bell.ca' and the password is <your voicemail password>. Now I can reclaim the ExtROM space and install useful things in there.

Re: Official List of Necessary ExtRom Cabs For Each Carrier

I decided to hard reset my AlltelPPC 6700 and didn't let the EXTRom cabs run at all. I noticed two things. the main page in PIE was different and I had to set my data service manually. which when I connect I get a message saying Data call failure error 37 and yet it still work without a problem. Now I wonder what am I to do with all this space?
