Use any Sprint phone on Verizon!
Sweet! I just got off the phone with Verizon, they're now supporting any CDMA devices. For camera type phones you gota either go into the store and get it flashed or find it somewhere online. For us PDA users all we need to do is use a Verizon ROM then call and they WILL ADD the ESN to their database.

Re: Use any Sprint phone on Verizon!
I was thinking the same and even put that in my first post until I saw that there wasen't one yet. You might be able to just put PRL and stuff and get it working. I think there reason for this is to work off the stupid move of not getting the iPhone (hopefuly this doesn't start a war )

Re: Use any Sprint phone on Verizon!
I believe the Verizon OTA programming (*22 requires the unlock code to be 000000. I think that is the single largest reason you have to run a vzw rom on it.
And they have been talking about this for a long time, I don't think the iPhone was a big factor in this decision. |

Re: Use any Sprint phone on Verizon!
Well, I didn't post it but yes you can use a different carriers PDA phone on VZW.
I have a Bluegrass UTstarcom 6700 on VZW right now. Has a bluegrass ESN and all they did was add the ESN to there database. Took about 15mins on the phone. I had flashed the phone with WM6.1 Kitchen before trying to get it on VZW network. Called in and they added the ESN (had to re-set the A Key by hand for some odd reason, but that happened to my VZW branded 6700 once before as well).

Re: Use any Sprint phone on Verizon!
For f-ing real. I had a specific Sprint handset I liked, so I used it when I signed up with them originally. It, and every d*mn phone I've had on their service since I have paid full retail. I ask them why I can't get some sort of upgrade or rebate after being with them for 10 years without a bloody contract. They just dodge the question. Because they make more money if they don't have to shell out a portion of your bill to cover the phone. A-holes. No contract for 10 years means at any point I could have walked away from them. I guess I enjoy the torture.
