It looks to me like most volume complaints are concerning the in-call volume, NOT the ringer volume.

If I could find a way to increase the earpiece in-call volume, I would do it.

I had a sanyo 9000 before the 6700 and I do certainly miss the speakerphone and overall quality of the earpiece even. Yeah, I can use a bluetooth headset and it does make it better for me, but for some reason the people on the other end have a harder time hearing me (but that's a whole nother issue). with the 9000, everyone at work knew when I got a text message though... It was so loud I didn't have to put it on vibrate in bars, it was loud enough to hear it over the music. the 6700 is indeed very far from that...

Same here. I actually have a spare 9000 w/ a bad lcd laying around, in pieces. I wonder if transplanting the speaker from the 9000 to the 6700 is feasible. Anyone try this?

I would venture a guess......

and say the speaker itself is not the problem.....it's the amplifier driving the speaker. The 6700 just don't have the "output."
