PPCGEEKS Phone Lock Slider

New Release 6/11/07

The following changes were made:

1. Allowed the user the ability to show either the last caller name (1) or the last caller name and number (2) (slide.ini setting for last caller)
2. Added the ability to pause the cycling text (entire program) by pressing the left or right hardware buttons. The program will unpause by touching the screen or pressing the button a second time.
3. Added code which will prevent any registry look up from showing during the cycletext mode if NA. Example, no email no cycling of the unread email view. no text message, no cycling of the unread text message view.. etc.. Text message (0) should no longer show up on the cycletext mode as well.
4. remove the text batt-sav at bottom left of screen. but function is still there. slide the arrow all the way to the left and it will eventually suspend the entire program until you touch the screen again.
5. added missed call, voicemail, email / sms icons. If all registry calls are off the icons should still show.
6. recoded the timeshifting wallpaper to be more cpu / battery friendly, i still need to improve the wallpaper though.. some slightly overlap each other. you will see what i mean between 6pm and 10pm.
7. Allowed the user the ability to adjust the font sizes in the slide.ini

started a new numbering system for the application. sorry about the confusion with beta, alphabeta, omegabeta and such : ). I'll try to improve here.

please test and give some feedback.

like i mentioned before, my poor ppc6700 has bit the dirt (radio function) and i can't properly test the icon notifications. so i'm relying on feedback.

New Release

Slide Beta 3

Tweaks to this Version include:

1. CycleText
With CycleTextOff=0 will Increase the Font greatly of all the previous calls to the registry such as:
a. Last Caller
b. # of Unread Exchange Emails / Other Emails
c. # of Unread Text Messages

Plus each one will cycle approximately every 10 seconds.

The appointments will remain constant and with a slight increase in the font.

CycleTextOn = 1 will revert to the smaller font (though slightly larger than the original) and all calls will remain constant on the screen.

2. Battery Saver
This is still an ongoing task, but it works much better now.
When you first start the slide.exe the program with be in Batt-Sav Off Mode. Which simply means it will continue to run at full power (minus a 7ms snooze to allow for the notifications to come through). If you move the slider to the right and release (or simply push the slide to the far left) the program will be in Batt-Sav On Mode. Which means it will continue to run for about 20-30 seconds and then completely pause. It can be rewoke by tapping the screen. Note that updates to the calls will not refresh in Batt-Sav Mode unless the program is interrupted or you touch the screen. I haven't been able to measure the battery savings so your help here would be appreciated. Battery Saver should work in all modes.

3. I tweaked the slider a little more and now it has a little bit more fluid like motion.

I'll post a squre version in about 12 hours or so.

Please post feedback. This still will not boot up as quick as A_C's with his new ilock.exe program but this one should use less memory.

Unzip all contents onto your ppc and overwrite the previous slide. Do not rename slide.exe.

A couple of pics from the cycletext mode.

5/15/07

A modified slider for your ppc!

Includes the following tweaks:

1. Timeshifting Wallpaper (rotatingwallpaper)
Based on the hour of the day the wallpaper will change to a picture which relates to the time of the day. (dawn, morning, afternoon, evening, sunset and night .jpg's)

2. Added code which allows the caller id to bleed thru the screen.
(you may want to disable text message display notifications to improve overall performance)

3. beta stages of cpu saver - With the slider to the far left, the program will go into a slight sleep mode. 250ms - still working on this.

Of course it includes:

Visual notifications of :

Last Caller Name
Last Caller Number
# of Unread Text messages, Exchange Email and Other Email
CPU Usage Indicator

Use the slide.ini to adjust your settings.

Hopefully more to come thanks to your feedback!

Slider code tweaked by 6700yuma and andason.

Just a slightly modified slider unlocker tributed to ppcgeeks.

I used ppl to modify it slightly. I kept getting errors with the clock.

Appears to work properly now.

For those interested you can go to http://www.arianesoft.ca/page.php?1 and download a free trial copy to play with for 15 days i believe?

Or make it like onlock/devicelock

Yeah, well that was my original problem. Everytime i tried increasing the font i would get errors. It seems that the largest i can go is the arial 14 system font.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.. i'm just a noobee trying to play. : )
