PolloLoco : Wisbar has been updated as of r7 base. I have stayed up on the aps as I have put out each release. Wisbar v1.13 had a bug and is why I waited for v1.14. TCPMP I did grab from the latest kitchen. But you have to remember, newer is not always better. Been trying to stick to what works and what works well. Again its also the reason I do not build with the kitchen. It does work (and work well) but there are still things that can be done differently and with better results. I also grabbed PIE+ bits from the oem as I thought they were newer. IE kept crashing and later found that the version were the same but the biniaries were different (compressed?) but they were causing the crashedl. Reverted back to the bits I extracted for r4 (from the authors cab) and the crashes went away.

I hope you didn't take my suggestion as criticism. It was just something I'd noticed wrt rev numbers and wanted to make sure you were aware that there were component updates. Obviously you were.

I definitely trust your judgment as to what to include - I've loved your ROM over the months I've used it.

I can't wait to see the new one Saridnour! Thanks for all of your hard work.

UPDATE:
Using BT Audio program I can get all audio to the headset.
Issue still having is the announce incoming call going to the headset. It will not announce on the headset, only announces on the speaker on the phone.

Thanks.

I don't know if you got this fixed already (the Announce Incoming call thing on the plantronics) But I use the IDTransfer and I get the call announced, and also the custom ring tone in my ear piece (I have a Plant. 640 tho)

PR8 BETA!!

Ok I made the changes to the PR code base and have an untested build for Beta. I have not loaded this as I need to keep my R version running to make sure the PR's base is solid and thought I would see if anyone is interested in testing the new PR8.

I will take the first 5 people who pm me (and have run pr6 in the past and are familuar with it) and will give them the link and password for the rar file. This also has the updated radio rom in it as well. (1 spot left..)

I am looking to verify the following items and would expect each tester to verify them:
1- All new apps you find in the rom (from pr6) be listed in the above post listing changes.
2- verify wisbar, pie+, flexmail and xcpu are not registered.
3- No user data (name, email, activesync servers, etc) is in the rom.
4- If you have a BT headset and VC, that it can announce incoming calls.
5- All shortcuts function.
6- any apps that you installed and used in pr6 work on the beta.
7- general functionality.
8- The welcoms screen only shows calibration and auto skips the rest
9- The auto provsioning (loading extended rom) works for first boot only.
10- carrier time auto sync's

Also make sure to have the date time set (should sync to carrier time automaticly) before you launch IE as PIE+ will expire if it sees an old date time then updaes to current!

Feel free to post general information, comments, errors, etc to the thread, but PM me your errors in detail. I am sure others would like to hear what you think and generating feedback from others would be good before setting the build as final.

I don't suppose there's room in there for mobipocket reader? Microsoft reader doesn't let me customize the screen sufficiently (margins are too wide and fonts too big for my tastes). I cooked a ROM from the kitchen, but haven't been real happy with the stability after using your pr6

jimnutt:That was the reader that the users decided on some time back. If you can talk other into it I would have no problem changing.

BETATesters: Can one of you run a test on PIE+
Just need to verify that the trial does expire correctly. If run first thing before loading data, a hard reset will get you right back where you were and the trial will run again. What I need you to do is:
- Turn off system carrier time sync
- Reset date and time to a year or so ago
- Run Ie (verify that PIE+ interface loads with IE)
- Close IE
- Reset date to current or better
- Load IE
- PIE+ should indicate the trial has expired and IE should load fine by itself.
- Close and reload IE and note if the trial message shows or if just IE loads
- Verify the user data in the help screen (report whats listed in PM if name is there)

I'll be able to do that in a minute, I had to do a hard reset because for some reason my phone's radio well shut off and not connect with anything. I'm trying to figure out if it's a program that's causing it or something else.

pdx77: did you install the Radio rom along with the PR8 package? That would be about the only thing that would do something like that. If it happens again, flash the old radio rom back to your device and see if that does it. (pld rom should r in your carriers last offical rom package.
