corupted extened_rom

I unlocked my extened_rom and installed some apps there. One of the apps wrote a bunch of temp stuff and fill up the space. Now there is 0 space available and there are some folders and files there with invalid file names and I can not delete them. I have tried total commander, and looking at it from the windows system.
Is there a way to format the extended_rom?

Reflash with just the extrom (_ms.nbk) ...?

yea just reflash the ms.nbf from ur carrier

no hard reset needed.

I ended up formatting the ext_rom with 'flash format' and copying everything over form a backup I had - even the installed programs (minus the bad one).
All working now.
