how to do a clean rom install?

how would i go about doing a clean rom install?
every time i try a new rom, it leaves a lot of software or links from the last rom install. i want to get rid of all this extra stuff. one example is during startup it always says i can't find link to certain programs.

you need to hard reset after you install a ROM. There should be NO carryover from one ROM to the next.

Also, advanced search...show results as posts rather than threads (the default). Should make things easier to find.

ALWAYS perform a hard reset before flashing any ROM

hold down the two buttons above the green and red phone buttons and push the reset button (on the bottom of the phone)

it will then prompt you to with "Press Y to restore factory default. Press N to exit"

Zeki,

What you're doing is putting the phone in bootloader mode when you push the tape, power and reset button, which is necessary to install the ROM. Once the ROM is loaded do the hard reset mentioned previously (pressing the two soft or dash keys while using your stylus to press the reset button).
