Bricked my phone

I just received my ppc-6700 today. I activated it with sprint. I downloaded windows mobile device center for vista. It saw the phone and was able to sync with it fine. I downloaded the latest official sprint update, because I noticed its ext rom and radio versions were more current. I started the update and all was going well into about a minute of the update. The screen went blank on my phone and the update program said it failed. Now all I can get is the bootloader screen and the factory defaults screen(which neither help me). I have tried updating it as it seems to be in bootloader mode, but i think it is stuck somewhere in between.

this happened to me, I did a hard reset, it went back into serial mode, then I plugged in the usb and started the flash again. luckily it worked. I'm not sure if you've done this... you said you've tried to update it with the bootloader screen on, but you didn't mention a hard reset. The hard reset "refreshed" my bootloader screen and allowed the rom to load properly. good luck.

Happened to me too. Unplug from USB and plug it back in. close the ROM program and open it again. It'll Run and wont give you a current ROM version. Ignore it and proceed. You phone will now complete to upgrade. If you are using an official ROM you phone will now boot fine. Some of the unofficial ones will need you to kick it out of bootloader mode manually. These instructions are posted elsewhere.

hope this helps. Just as an FYI.. I have never ran a ROM upgrade in vista where this didnt happen. So your not alone

Thanks alot guys. After studying this , I discovered that the drivers were the problem. That seems to be alot of Vista problems right now, drivers. I got my apache running Kirvin's clean and simple, and it great!!!!
