Contacts list crashing?

Hello, sorry to post an odd question for my inaugural post but this has me stumped.

I have a PPC-6700 using it on the Telus network in Canada, now everything successfully updates to the new aku's. however if I install anything but the stock AKU when I try to open or sync my contacts list I get crashes and errors. In the PPC I click on contacts, it opens for about a half second and then closes with no error message. With activesync if I try to sync with contacts selected as a sync option I get an insufficient memory error 8007000e. now I have more then 25 megs free in both storage and memory with a 2gb card in as well. I have no idea what to try as I really like the newer software setups. However if contacts wont work it is effectively useless to me.

I know I havent given a lot to work with but nothing I googled or searched in the forums for came close to this and I have no idea if there is an event viewer in WM5.

Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.

Did you preform hard resets after flashing? I had, along with many others the same problem if a hard reset was not done.

You're not doing a hard reset after flashing.

(1) backup all info via activesync
(2) flash, then Hard Reset
(2a) - contacts should now work, you should have none.
(3) restore via activesync.

You cannot backup/restore pim.vol, or use any 3rd party backup/restore when moving from the stock roms (AKU 2.x) to the new roms (AKU3.x) since the format of the pim.vol database has changed.

Hmm well I must be dumb, a hard reset is power and reset button correct? I am seeing a lot of references to it but I have not been able to find a firm statement on what it requires.

Hit both - buttons on the front and press the reset button, then hit Y on the keypad
