ICS (Internet Sharing) needed.

Hi guys...

Wondering if anyone can help in one form or another in regards to ICS (Internet Sharing)for my Verizon XV6700 which has WM5 AKU 3.3.

Now I've noticed that ICS is not even installed or even as an option.

So can anyone tell me where I can download those files from. In case anyone wants to know, I am looking to use the Xv6700 as an access point and in reading many forums, this is the easiest way to do it with along with WMwifirouter, and WMwifirouter needs ICS files to do it.

Please can anyone help in pointing me in the right direction?

should be a winmodem application or something similar to that.. that functions as ICS

If your referring to Wmodem, I have tried that and WMwifirouter still says Connection Sharing not found. I had read somewhere that some OEMs can install certain features or leave some out. I have tried looking for the individual files needed as well but cant seem to find them.

I would have thought that all of the guys here would have given me a quick answer or point me in the right direction.

Can anyone check their phones to see if that app (ICS - Internet connection Sharing) is there? And if it is...can anyone supply me with those specific files?

I have it...it came with the Rom though. Not sure how to identify exactly which files you need. Also did you pop in the IRC and ask?

I doubt that it's possible, this is not XP Pro or Vista. I've seen directions to get the phone to work as a modem using the USB port but I can't even get wi-fi to work on it's own.

Dont need Vista or XP for ICS, they do make it for the PPC, and my wifi works, everything on it does.

Verizon just decided to omit thew ICS program for this.

I may have to install a different ROM, which is what I was trying to avoid.

When you say it came with the ROM, what model do you have and what ROM?

It comes in WM6/6.1. I think it is a feature of the Windows Mobile. I don't remember but I don't think it is selectable from the kitchen as a program.
