Try unchecking all sync options on PC and PPC. Close WMDC and reboot computer. Soft reset PPC. Open WMDC and recheck sync options. Same with PPC. Reboot and reset. Try the sync. Also, you said that you upgraded to WMDC. Did you delete/remake partnership? Check to make sure "enable advanced network functionality" is unchecked in "USB to PC'" setting.
