Which Tutorial to follow? + update on SLOW xv-6700 :)
Hey Guys. Looks like I've been having double issues with my xv-6700's. First off, I did not know how to flash right, what a kitchen was, what apache meant (thought it was a helicopter...), what/who Helmi was, that PPC XV-6700 = Audiovox XV-6700, and that to understand all of this, one needs patience.
Thanks for clearing lots of things up. Now I have one more question and comment. I had an XV-6700 (will say Apache from here on after) working fine and dandy, but after many many drops on concrete non rugged floor, the touch screen quit being reliable. Amazingly unreliable that is. A touch here would register as a touch 2 cm above and 1.4 cm to the left for example... couldn't recalibrate either. Anyway, to make a very long story short, I bought another one, used. This other Apache was rather slow in certain areas... I could receive calls no problem, but upon dialing out, I would have to wait either 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30+ seconds for the timer to start and the ring tone to sound! I battled for days and days, until I contacted the seller and he happily exchanged me for another one, which I have now.
I am now a proud owner of a once again 'working' Apache phone, and luckily, I had saved all of my contacts on to a miniSD card using PIMBackup manager. This phone however is 1.10.00 Radio and 2.07.206 WWE ROM version. The phone WORKS fine and dandy compared to my 2nd Apache (the one after the dead touch screen one), so upgrading it I will not, unless I find a way to do so. I still have not learned since... there are many threads teaching new users how to upgrade.
I was wondering and my question is: Which instruction set should I go for? I tried many here, two at least, and both either contradict each other or have steps that were not mentioned in the other one; so choosing which one to follow is difficult.
Remember, I am new to this and have patience and I ask of anyone who has been in my shoes before, please help. If you can provide me with an already made ROM by you, or your friend, I will be grateful. I have my old touch screen non working apache to test with, and my new, yet out dated but working apache to run an update on once I get familiar on my 'test apache'.
I hope I am clear. English is not my first language so excuse the faults. I would like to make it known that once I learn how to flash my test phone using your prebuilt ROM, I will make my own and install it on my 'working but outdated apache' and am willing ot help anyone else who does not understand.
Cheers!

P.S I do not use Sprint, Verizon, nor AT&T; I live in Dominican Republic and use VIVA (bought out centennial).
