Idiot Newbie - Sprint PPC 6700

Ok I am a programmer by trade, and I really want to patch my phone.

My impression is that the HTC Apache is the generic name for the Sprint PPC 6700? Is that correct?

I ask this because when I try to use a rom update utillity it tells me its not the right device.

HTC Apache is a non carrier specific name for the Sprint PPC 6700.

Which rom are you updating?

Apparently I was a point release behind. Once I took the latest sprint firmware, the rom patches are working. Thank you...

np but.. are you planning on doing a custom rom upgrade? It's really a lot faster in 3.x than 2.x

Yup took a 3.5 rom releae upgrade this morning.. I cant believe the difference. I am so happy to have found this site!!!
