Word on the Verizon update?

Well a little birdie informed me on the verizon update and provided a image of a pdf file that someone had access too. This pdf was dated 2/21/07. Does this indeed prove that there will be an updated released soon? We shall see. But this is indeed good news. No clue of what AKU tho. Just that it will include a2dp.

Supposedly someone on pdaphonehome got an email response from Verizon tech support stating AKU 3.3 was to be released for the 6700 in the 2nd quarter around the May timeframe. But now actually seeing a picture with a possible vx6700 update and the verizon logo on the same page looks a little more promising than "well I call xxxxx support and they told me......" stories/rumors.

Sprints update went out yesterday, it shows our next release as the "Titan 6800" with windows mobile 5....

the only differences are a slimer form factor, EVDO revision A, and a 2 megapixel camera. oh and a new slider wheel, whatever that means (blackberry like?)

I was pretty pissed off reading our spec sheet, and not seeing WM6 and no "true" upgrade incentives.

there was nothing about wich aku revision, as it was more or less a press release than a technical breakdown.

im gonna go cry now

EDIT

oh and our release is "Mid-May"

I dont know if anybody has seen the pictures for the 6800. Its a little different from the images we were seeing late last year and early this year.

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/0...n-in-the-wild/

notable changes on appearance other than what others have said,
caps and fn key indicator
numbers on keyboard are no longer across the qwerty keys
wifi switch
button for speaker
speaker on back of phone no longer covered by the mirror thing
keyboard opens opposite way
internal antennae
its all black or graphite in color (hopefully sprint keeps that color)
I should be getting this as soon as it comes out, then we can all just hack it again.

Maybe this was mentioned before, but in looking at these pics, is the battery replaceable? I am just trying to figure out how it would be removed and and extended battery made to work. Has this been discussed?

Judging from the htc tytn the battery is the same as what we have. For an extended battery, you are prob going to need a battery cover with an extended battery. The flat part of the back piece has a latch that releases it.

Yeah, saw the latch. That is one huge cover. Or, did they get a way from the cover again and that is the battery itself like on the 6600?

Its the cover. Just plain and flat. Link below is pictures of the Tytn, but its the closest thing. Lot of pictures too, battery cover is close to the end.
