error 201 when attempting flash

Hi,

I was able to flash to the helmi kitchen on my XV6700. Loved it mainly because it was faster, VoiceCommand, and just the ability ton install more apps in the ROM, like Java, Adobe Reader, etc, making even a hard reset no big deal.

The XV6700 joystick button got screwed up. I put the old official UT/VZW ROM back on, went to VZW store and got a new XV6700. Got home, did a hard reset, did not allow the "after 3 seconds..." VZW customization and soft rest. When I boot up, it says "D 3.14.30 WWE" at bottom of screen. I cannot flash this one. BuildOS builds the ROM, then I click Next, it shows the current ROM, I click "Update", it says "don't disconnect...", but then it fails with "Error 201: GET DEVICA DATA ERROR."

I did read the FAQs and saw the suggestions on this error. I tried different cable, soft reset, rebooted PC, even tried a different PC.

What can be done?

Thanks,
Bracca

Re: error 201 when attempting flash

Put it in bootloader mode and make sure you are setting it up for the right version. Hold the Power and Record buttons while hitting reset. This will put it in bootloader mode. Read the version from the bottom of the screen.

Thank you very much. That was it. After I noted the version from the bootloader screen, I rebuilt the ROM with buildOS with the correct version and all was ok.
