AKU 3.5 not allowing non-IEEE 802.1x network

I'm trying to connect to my home wireless router, which uses WPA-PSK and TKIP, which appears to be supported by AKU 3.5. It tries to connect, but always fails. I believe it is because it won't allow de-selecting the "Use IEEE 802.1x network access control" setting, and my DLink router doesn't support EAP.

Is there a way to create a non-EAP connection? If not, is there a way to install something in my local network to do the EAP, or is that something that must be built into the router?

That shouldn't matter. My 6700 running the base AKU 3.5 works just fine using WPA-PSK/TKIP on my girlfriends Netgear WGR614 router with that option checked. It's only used if the AP supports EAP protocols which your standard Linksys/Dlink/Netgear etc router/ap's don't support. EAP is mainly used by companies to authorize wireless devices by the use of a certificate installed on the wireless device itself.

Thanks, dracon. I'll try tweaking some other settings, then.

Any ideas on how to diagnose WiFi connection failures? Any way to log the process? My PC clients are all using WPA-PSK w/ TKIP, and work fine. I verified the router (DWL-AG700P) is configured to allow B (or rather, is not configured for G only). Other settings are all default.
