Help! XV6700 won't charge/sync

I was using my xv6700 as usual and i went to plug it in this morning to sync. I have not installed any new programs in the past few days and all of a sudden the phone acts like it's not charging when i plug it into the pc or ac adapter. It will say charging for a second or two and then that will go away and it acts like it's not charging. I have performed two hard resets and nothing has workes. So now I am stuck without any of my contacts or programs since i can't sync or charge...and my phone should die here soon.

Hello!
Can you do the following:
1. Plug-in to your AC charger;
2. Does it light up, or indicate any charging?

3. Turn off the screen/device by pressing the power key;
4. Wait about 10 seconds, and you should see the LED turn on, and start charging again.

Also, I have found Slide-2-Unlock to cause problems charging my device, but that is due to the battery being pretty much gone.. It doesn't keep a charge and has a lot of problems, so I attribute the S2U problem, to that. If you do use S2U, try to flash to a ROM, that doesn't have that in it.

Next, what are you using, WM6.1 or WM6/WM5?

Re: Help! XV6700 won't charge/sync

Thanks for the quick reply! Ok I followed your steps about the AC adapter and it will now charge off of that which is better than nothing. But if i try to plug it in to the pc and follow the same steps as with the ac adapter, it charges while the lcd is off, but the computer/activesync doesn't even detect a device and as soon as i turn the lcd back on the charging stops. No s2u, using wm5. thanks

What time period are we looking at? How long has this been happening, and how long have you had the phone, before this occured?

Re: Help! XV6700 won't charge/sync

I've had the phone since February. Obviously I don't like to just leave it in factory defaults so I've installed/uninstalled many programs. I've also done reg edits, etc. but no side effects until now. This started happening this morning...about 12 hours ago. I didn't install any programs and then reset or anything like that i just went to plug it in and it started doing this.

Re: Help! XV6700 won't charge/sync

This should be pretty simple here. If you know it will charge on neither the USB cable to the PC or the AC charger to the wall then to know it is something in the device itself. However will it sync to the PC via USB? If so then there is nothing wrong with the USB port on the device. But I dont think you will get that far. If you cannot charge then I dont expect you to sync either. That means the USB on the device itself it broken.

Re: Help! XV6700 won't charge/sync

It will charge on AC adapter if I turn the lcd off and wait then the LED will turn on and i can turn the lcd back on and it will stay charging. But if i do the same for the pc, no usb connection via activesync is made and it will only charge with the lcd off

Re: Help! XV6700 won't charge/sync

Should I just try to flash it to a new WM5 rom? I don't wanna flash to wm6 cuz i'm in bootloader 2.05 and i don't wanna risk bricking my phone reverting the bootloader.

Re: Help! XV6700 won't charge/sync

Well never mind. I just got off the phoen with vzw customer service and they're sending out a new (not refurbished...so they say) xv6700 overnight. I was kinda hoping they'd go ahead and give me a 6800 though. If something "happens" to go wrong with this new one they send out, is it possible for me to muscle my way through customer service for a new 6800 for free?

I know this is a delayed reply, but you can get anything you want from your carriers, it just takes skill and a lot of patience. Even without skill, you can get it.. Just keep calling until you get what you want; it sounds like you have enough issues and history, that you could ask for anything you want. I've done it before..
