Re: LCD replacement
yeah, I realize that.
unfortunately, I have gone over budget already, and an additional $100 isn't really feasible at the moment, especially since my computer monitor started acting up this morning. ... blurry and kept turning off, but seems OK now. when it rains, it pours..... |

$100 is the average price I have seen for a used replacement. |

CRT.... I have noticed lately that when I first fire it up, its a bit blurry till it warms up. this morning was blurrier than normal, then the image on the screen looked like it was expanding, and then the screen went dark.. power cycled, same thing... after about 4 times, it came on and stayed on, and so far has been on for the rest of the day, so it isn't dead yet, but it is showing symptoms. I can't complain too much, its a 19" flat screen CRT that I bought almost 8 years ago, paid $190 for it new, and has been a fantastic monitor, so it doesn't owe me a thing, but the timing could be a little better, I'd like to make it through one month without having to fix or replace something..... |

Re: LCD replacement
I paid $40 for a new replacement screen from an ebay vendor. Was from a US seller and was the screen and digitizer as one. It was packaged in UT Starcom packaging so I assume it came directly from them at one point.
This was the second replacement I bought from ebay. The first one was $40 as well and actually only included the digitizer and not the LCD as described. Ill see if I can dig up who i bought the screen from and pass on the info. Its been a while though. You may have a good chance buying a damaged 6700 from ebay, there is a guy on there selling them for a Buy it now price of $39.99 plus shipping. He says they have a good screen. They would already have the digitizer attached and be an OEM piece so it should be good. Thomas |
