Re: Weird Slow PPC6700 problem
Have you tried backing everything up and hard resetting so you having nothing but the ROM itself and see if that resolves it? I personally thank e tose who helped produce WM6 for us but also do believe it itsnt for the 67. There are so many issues that others have from it.

Re: Weird Slow PPC6700 problem
I had the same problem with my 6700 and the windows mobile 6 rom. The only way to fix it is to hard reset it. I've had to do it 2 times all ready. Not sure what causes it, but it seems to happen out of the blue when I answer a call, then the phone locks up, then I do a soft reset then after that, the phone is real laggy and slow. Not sure what it is, but it sucks none the less.

PPCs are no different. I use SPB Clone so that once I have my ROM installed and my red edits completed and all my settings how I want them, then I "clone" the device and keep that backup not only on my PC and email but also on my card incase I need it anytime later. For instance you can load you WM6 and all your apps and then clone it. Then you could hard reset and when it boots back up the auto exe will kick in and ask if you want to restore and if you choose to continue then the restore process takes only a few minutes. It REALLY makes things easier and faster. Quote:

Re: Weird Slow PPC6700 problem
I would recommend SPB Backup. Its only $25 instead of $300 and it accomplishes the same task. Set up you phone and make a backup, this one could be used to get back to a good starting point after a hard reset. Then schedule a backup every night and keep a few backups on your storage card in case it takes a few days to notice something changed that now meeses up the phone.

Re: Weird Slow PPC6700 problem
Two totally different apps bro and although SPB Backup does some things along the same lines of Clone, Clone goes way further inside the ROM and settings and registry and so much more than that of Backup. Although the price is way up there, I was only making a point of how I do things.

Re: Weird Slow PPC6700 problem
I have used SPB Clone as well.
And not substitue that I have found for making an exact copy of a phone (6700 at least). So if you have a phone that wont boot any longer, the clone image is the safest and fastest way to get all your programs and settings on a new/replaced phone. Its a big time saver if you have lots of items loaded and custom reg. tweaks/hacks. A simple backup doesn't do this.

Re: Weird Slow PPC6700 problem
I've had the same exact problem. The SAME exact problem. I'm glad you wrote it up and I got to read it though, for it seems I may have 'fixed it' a little.
Just to know, my other 6700 never did this, it had the 1.43 radio and 3.14.00 WWE rom on it with WM5. This 'new' 6700 (new to me) came with the 1.12.00 radio and 2.06.00 WWE Rom. I flashed to Pheonix's 1.41 radio and instead of waiting 30+ seconds to dial out (could dial in no prob), I know wait ~ 5 seconds or less. I hope it stays this way, for I did this ~ 2 hours ago and have tried many calls. Try doing that, here is the link: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=5964 Cheers -Rob P.S to O.P: I still have not updated my ROM version 2.06.00, though I would like to. Perhaps you can help me with that? |
