pictures and videos folder not working

so i finally made the jump to aku 3.5, the stock verison with nothing special. everything was great for 3 days until now. when i open the pictures and videos icon to open the pics folder with the thumbnails, it freezes the phone. sometimes i can get to running programs and it says it has frozen, it tried to close it, then the whole phone just sits there until i soft reset. any ideas? should i flash to 3.3, more stable? and on the side..is the battery life worse with 3.5 as with 2.2? it seems for me it is a little, or maybe im just messing around on it alittle more. thanks.

Which extended rom are you using with the stock version 3.5. Some of the dll files in the extended rom are old and conflict with 3.5 rom. Also try one of the customized roms as certain bugs have already been fixed and you dont have to worry about problems like these.

one reason i didnt want to use one of the custom roms was all the extra stuff i just dont think i need. do i? plus i dont really like the MVC, i like the speed dial voice tag that comes with the phone (odd i know) and most of the roms dont have that. as to which extended rom, i have no idea. (rom version 2.11.20 WWE, extROM 2.07.200) i had the AKU 3.3 stock from here i think. and its hard to find where to download some of these except the ones on the page that compiled some of them.

In that case try Jeff Kirvins simple 3.5 for any apache. It doesnt have any extra stuff in there and i think it still has voice dial. It will def be better than what you are using. If you are using sprint, use this one

using verizon...and you mean Kirvin's Clean and Simple 3.5? he removed the voice dial because he said if you are going to use something use voice command. is there another one? i searched and searched but couldnt find another one. was going to use yuma 3.3 cause he still had the voice dial unless there is a 3.5 with voice dial. im just glad i finally put my panties on and found out oh easy it was to upgrade to these 3.x ROMs. thanks

Will pm you later tonite or tomorrow morning. Meanwhile use Yumas rom till the first dev kitchen is released to the public. there will be some more upgraded roms then, or you can make urs. Nice to see you take the plunge. This is way too easy.

but berrars can be choosers. After installing the eten software, go into the windows dirctory and ren mfc80u.dll to .old and then try. (also try renameing msvcr80.dll to .old, one of them will get it going, but i cant remember which off the top of my head)

I have an eten dialer on my phone working fine. (The cab is on my pc @ work, pm me if you are really interested)
