HTC Home Nightmares

Hi,

I've search the net, including this site, and found a lot of info about loading HTC Home, but so far I'm still having troubles even after following the advice I found. So I figure I'll try asking for some help here.

I don't have HTC Home cooked into my ROM, so I need to load it after installing the ROM. I'm using the latest version of the LennySh ROM that comes with the latest version of PPCKitchen.

After loading that ROM I look at the WM version info and it says that the device is running WM 6.1.

[Quick note: Originally I built a ROM with HTC Home included and that ran OK, but had some minor problems when I patched it to use a proxy to download weather updates. I also needed to remove it from the ROM to make room for other tools and I figured that I could load it manually after installing the ROM, and that's where I'm at right now. And I don't have the Cube installed in case anyone wonders. ]

So, I found a copy of HTC Home 2.1 that supposedly works on WM 6.1 -- I got it over at pocketemu.com. But, when I install it, it won't run, or at least I don't see it coming up on the screen after I activate it in the Today applet. I tried the version with the backlight patch and the one without the backlight patch. Neither worked. So I uninstalled each one after testing them one at a time.

Then I download the version from pocketemu that is supposed to work with WM 5 and that one runs but has problems. So I uninstalled that one too.

Anybody here know where to download a good copy of HTC Home 2.1 or 1.5 that will definitely work in HTC Apache on a ppc6700? Or maybe someone has tips that'll help me make it run right?
