No EVDO during phone calls

Ok I dont know if this is normal but during calls and txting, I dont have EVDO. Instead I have 1X. Is this normal? I flashed my 6700 for WM6 using helmi's kitchen.

Re: No EVDO during phone calls

Kind of along the same lines, I was on vacation recently and wanted to use my phone (teathered) for a internet connection to my laptop. Before connection (using ICS) I was getting an 'EV' indicator at the top of the screen, then as soon as I connected it switched to 1x. Is it possible that because I was 'teathered' that Sprint stuck to me and dropped me back to 1x? When I do this fomr my home area, I always get a EVDO connection.
