Can't get on the net.... No modem??

Whenever I attempt to get on the internet with my 6700 I get an error. "No modem at above number." Tech support says I need a hard reset, anybody know anything else?

Uhh, then hard reset? Have you tried deleting and re-creating the connection? What carrier are you on? Sprint, vzw, alltel, other?

I have Sprint.

I deleted and redid the connection. That didn't help.

You think perhaps this is sometype of retribution for using my phone as a modem all the time?

It is possible your mainboard went bad, but have you tried to reflash the stock rom from utstar.com ?

P.S. When you say no modem, are you talking about getting that message on your computer? If that is the case, it is probably not a hardware issue, but rather a configuration issue.

Well, no not on my computer. Thats the error message I get when I try to get on the net with my phone. It's dialing to the right number (#777) but it says there is no modem at the above number.

No, I haven't tried reflash..... Is that going to reset me back to factory defaults?

I remember one of the ROM kitchens having this problem. I managed to duplicate this error, then fix it by creating a new connection with the correct info.

You can see you info at sprint.com or verizon.com

It will ask you log in name and such.

Otherwise try reflashing with a rom without this known error.
