Thanx, I might try it later. I went back to 3.3 because wmodem is faster but if it works in 3.5 I might try it

Has anybody tried using VPN on the computer with internet sharing. I cant seem to get VPN to work and I initially thought it was my network at first. If anybody has info or knows better please inform me.

Internet Sharing problem.

Hello All,
I've been reading this thread and other threads pertaining to Internet Sharing with my ppc-6700 and can't find a resolution to my problem. I'm running active sync 4.5 on xp/sp2 and AKU 3.5 by kirvin. I can sync up fine with my laptop but get a unknown usb device error when I start Internet Sharing. I've tried starting Internet Sharing first and then connecting to my laptop via USB and I've tried syncing first and then starting Internet Sharing. I get the same results either way. I've used wmodem before my AKU update and it worked fine. It doesn't work now. I get a Open Com Port error.

Can someone walk me thru this.

Go in to activesync and turn off allow usb connection. Then start internet sharing and plug your usb cable in.

This is a good question...I use my computer at work to charge my phone via the USB and when the "found new harware" comes up I click exit...It still cahrges of course.

blazingwolf,

thanks for the reply, but i have done that. my laptop comes up with a limited or no connection error and internet sharing comes up with a no ip address assigned error. i've tried everything and cannot figure it out. i think most people just start internet sharing, disable usb in active sync and plug in their usb and it works. i must have something set wrong some where. still needing help.

Well everyone I got it fixed!!

Did a new ROM install with Colonel's 3.5 for Sprint and manually re-loaded the rest of my programs without using my backup/restore software. Now Internet Sharing works great. It does seem a lot slower to me than the Wireless Modem app. but hey I'm back in business! Thanks for all of the help.[/i]
