Bluetooth Relay

Is it possible to setup some type of bluetooth relay? So for example, laptop takes bluetooth audio signal and sends it out, mobile phone captures signal and relays it to bluetooth sterio hedphones. I'm having an issue with the helium digital head phones. The connection becomes intermittant when the headphones line of sight is interupted - even by turning my head because the reciever is in the right side of the headphones. So if I can somehow setup my phone so it will relay bluetooth signals and place the phone on the other side of the room, then it should work right?

Is there a way to do this? Does the access point profile allow this?

I think just a cheap BT dongle does this or can do this. Other have done it before so maybe someone else can chime in and give more specifics.
