I have a PPC6700 and my rate plan DOES include Picture Mail. I called care and they totally re-provisioned my picture mail service to the network. They NEVER implied that it wasn't supported on my device. Of course we know that Sprint never provided picture mail in the ROM. So I'm sure there is some problem with a parameter being sent to the network that causing it to error. Since the network may be confused by a parameter or combination of parameters - don't assume a proper return message is returned. I would suggest that we stop sending the "X-Alltel-MDN" with a phone-number parameter to Sprint, that would be a good first step in correcting the parameters.

jpsaras,
I am going to be talking to a sprint rep regarding my dissatisfaction with my service (going to call me back). Can you give me some more info on how you got your service back, and what you told them? I am kind of confused by your explaination of parameters, but i would not doubt it. I just need to be able to explain my situation better. I am sure they are hearing lots about this anyway! |

Has anyone swapped to a regular phone online, and then set up a picture mail account?
It should still be active when you swap back to the pocket pc. |

My service still doesn't work. But, they did go through the effort of trying to make it work. They told me that they were going to re-provision picture mail to the network, and I needed to wait 6 hrs. And then if after that it still didn't work, to take my handset to a repair center. Well it's still not working, and we all know I can't take the modified 6700 to a repair center.

Quick Fix.

After some thumbing around, what sprint has done is require the proxy to send pictures now. Simple solution is to install the calltones cable from the post: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=3782 After you've installed it, you will need to edit your MMS server settings for sprint to allow them to be edited (quick registry edit will do) Change the Connect via to the call tones connection, which has the proxy settings for you, and all is well. In a bit i'm sure someone will some time will make a cab that makes this all painless. I've been able to send pictures without a problem since I made the change. Good luck folks. |

Re: Updated: 02/05 - NO LONGER WORKING on Sprint - Real Picture Mail (PicMail, MMS)
So has anyone verified that this will work?
Also, how do I get it to work on my phone? I read the post 5 times and all it talks about is call tones (Whatever they are). Help. |
