try to call your phone while ur in a call... and if it goes through, you need to enable hdr under the modem option in the hidden menu....

this allows calls to come in over EV network... in 1x you should be fine.

Open up the phone app and dial ##778# (PST). You will be asked to enter your MSL. Enter it, and you will be brought into the provisioning of your phone. From the top left, select Modem Settings. On this page, your Slot Cycle Index (SCI) is how often your phone polls the tower for incoming calls, etc.
This value is 1.28 seconds multiplied by 2^value (i.e 0=1.28 secs, 1=2.56secs) with 0 fastest, 7 slowest. The default is 2, but lowering it to 1 hasn't noticeably affected my battery life, and roughly 2.5 second (SCI 1) response time is far more reasonable than roughly 5 seconds (SCI 2)."

i used a setting of "1" after getting my msl from tech-support....
Did a soft boot to be safe then checked it and made sure the setting stayed...

i noticed a very good improvement in response time and ill post back tomorrow on battery difference if there is one at all....

VERIZON directions

1. Open up the phone app
2. dial ##778
3. hit send
4. a screen will pop up asking for a code
5. enter 000000 ( thats 6 zeros)
6. click ok
7.You will be brought into the provisioning of your phone
8.From the top left, select Modem Settings.
9.On this page, your Slot Cycle Index (SCI) Your phone should have a 1 in that spot
10. Click edit change it to 0
11. click the ok button then the X in the upper right hand corrner
12. The VX6700 will restart and its all done...

) is how often your phone polls the tower for incoming calls, etc.
so I set hdr and the sci so now I am not only getting my calls.... but they are faster than I am used to on ppc phones
