Anyone working on GPSOne 6700?
Now that the GPSOne chip in the 6800 has been hacked is there anyone working on this for the 6700?
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...ht=gpsone+hack I still think this can be done, just keeping my hopes up. |

the radio is different and lacks a gps atenna? the phone operator can get your exact position from the phone. I think its a gps that could be used but its locked out and harder to access then the 6800's

The Titan and the Vogue both utilize chips that will work in standalone, satellite-based mode. Cell tower assistance is not necessary, but does dramatically speed up the lock. I don't know what hardware is in the 6700 though, so I can't say if it will ever work for the Apache.

Re: Anyone working on GPSOne 6700?
well i do know the hardware in the 6700. and it is just not possible. When people accept this fact they will be better off. And yes the phone operator can get your location. That means that the phone gets its location from cell towers. NOT THE SATELITES IN THE SKY. What the heck do you think the location feature in the phone is for? That is assisted gps. IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM TO BE CONFUSED WITH GPS. I have had this discussion many many times over at XDA-DEV with the hermes. Its the same with the apache. yes the chip is there. But it wont see satelites.
