I think people looking for a "Clean and Simple ROM" should download the kitchen and produce their own hybrid ROM. That is what I did. My paticular ROM is a Hybrid with only the programs that I wanted. Thanks to Jeff, Helmi, BigJ, and others the OEMs are out there and you just have to drop them into the OEM folder of the Kitchen. As far as the registry tweaks, mine is a hybrid of both BigJ and Jeff's. This is also in an OEM format so all you have to do is drop it into the folder. Once the OEMs are in the "OEM" folder run the program and a check box program comes up, and you select what you want in your ROM. Very simple, plus you get what you want.

yeah, but, kirvin tests stuff, makes sure it works good, and with a decent group running similar stuff. you have others to troubleshoot with, in otherwords, larger install base=larger knowledge base.

besides, how hard is it to install 2-3 cabs, or a couple reg tweaks? really, customizing as you go is half the fun.

MMS

What do I have to do to get MMS working on a XV6700 with the generic rom. I did not notice any customizations try to run. Can I simply install Arcsoft MMS and it will work for Verizon?

Quiktsi,
Glad you were successful in flashing a rom (Guess you gave up on Colonel's?).
Your symptoms are classic for failing to hard reset at the conclusion of the flash. Just hard reset (two soft keys and reset button) and you should be good to go. I don't think you need to reflash before doing this, but may be wrong. tmb

Check this thread: http://www.ppcgeeks.com/help-install...gh+memory.html

It's telling me you either a) didn't hard reset correctly, or b) tried to carry over your pim.vol or another backup from a previous rom. The only way to carry over that information from an AKU2.0 rom is through activesync.

Once you take care of these issues, I'll bet txt messaging will fix itself.
