Wow, now that I finally got all my programs reinstalled, you put out a new one.
I'm definitely going to have to do the new one. Hope that Sprite Backup thing works!

That file that is listed to take a snapshot is no longer available?
I guess I'll try it without that file and pray for the best.
Also, Sprite 5.1 has been out for quite a while now.

However, if I understand this post over at PDSPhoneHome correctl;y there is a new pre-release version of Sprite Backup 5.10 that may enable us to backup under the old ROM version and reinstall to the new one.

You can get the new Sprite backup program here:

Smart Dialer

My smart dialer is still the standard light blue color. Anyone else having this issue?

Jeff,

I am holding down both softkeys and doing reset. Then it asks if I want to clear settings and I select YES. Still has the light blue color for the smart dialer.

All went well, amen! The only thing that doesn't come back is the programs in extendedrom. But it's way better than starting at square one.
Thanks Jeff, for another great updating expenience

Thanks for this work!

Noticed one problem and one problem for me that is probably a quick fix.

The bug/problem is with the button mapping. Button 5 has no icon next to it like the others and nothing I assign to it works, rather the item that is listed for the Press & Hold is the one launched.

The problem for 'me' is that you've changed the softbuttons on the main screen to 'Web' and 'Running' from the previous version. Is there a simple registry fix I can do to switch them back to calendar and contacts?

uh oh... i think my device is finally dead. the middle of my screen has slowly become less responsive. and now on the initial screen alignment page, i have some trouble with the first one in the dead center of the screen... but i get it eventually and do the rest perfectly fine. however the freakin screen alignment just starts over again! wth?!? i've been thru TONS of screen alignments now, and nothing... just repeats. i've soft reset, hard reset, reflashed the rom, nothing changes... do i have a brick now? is there a way to get past this damn alignment screen? thanks!

i've also tried reflashing to the older version of your rom which worked before & the sprint rom which definitely worked... all the same result. i think i'm screwed unless someone knows a magical way around that intial touch screen setup screen!

if your "taps" on the alignment boxes dont fall within tolerance, then the alignment will prompt you to redo it again and again and again. two things cause this... both of them require you open the phone... i would take it to a sprint store (if you have sprint) and have the techs do it.

anyways, when the edge of the LCD ribbon cable pops up, this happens. you may also need a full screen replacement. This isnt a ROM issue unfortunately. and sounds like your screen may have finally had it. If your in socal LA area, i have 3 screens left at my store if you come in. PM me if you are in the area... even if your not sprint, ill replace it for you no biggy.
