BTW, I'm planning on upgrading my PC to Vista tonight, so after I get these new versions uploaded I won't be able to further patch them until I figure out how to use Virtual PC to run XP inside of Vista so CreateOS.exe will run.

Unless someone else can clue me in on how run CreateOS.exe in Vista... Hint, hint...

I wrote earlier about how fantastic this is, but grumbled a little bit about the time consuming chore of having to reinstall all my programs - but that is so minor compared to the amount of work and testing and reinstalling that Jeff must have gone through to bring us the latest and greatest.

However, if I understand this post over at PDSPhoneHome correctl;y there is a new pre-release version of Sprite Backup 5.10 that may enable us to backup under the old ROM version and reinstall to the new one.

http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6...te-backup.html

You can get the new Sprite backup program here:

Damn, that's what I get for uploading these at 3am.

Rebuilding now, including .net 2, MMS, TC and Live Search. The Sprint version should have the MMS settings preloaded, but the generic will not. Give me a couple hours to get them built and uploaded.

HIMYM is right. Nothing good happens after 2am.
terrific! I really liked having those in the last version. If you haven't already built it, can you consider fixing the text color on the dialer screen? I see that the kitchen has updated the crossbow patch to update registry entries so that the numbers are not so hard to read.

Sob I can't download the file yet. I'm running a Sprint aircard for internet access and when I try to download, after a minute or so, I get a response of either 'connection to server has been reset' or download has 'timed out'. Sprint Advanced Tech Support just helped reset my card, but still no go and says that PPCGeeks server must have a time limit. OK, no prob', I can go to Caribou Coffee this weekend and access their free wifi and download it then. But I have never been very good at delayed gratification.
Thanks anyway again Jeff-your 'followers' =D> really appreciate your hard work!

Uploading now, alas. I'll see what I can do once I get Vista set up and Virtual PC installed.

Arrggh... I just reset my device. Oh well, I'll install the updated one tomorrow! Jeff, so far it runs smooth! If I notice any problems that seem OS/ROM related, I'll post em here. Thanks for the hard work!

oh well, it's a minor tweak in any case. I'll be happy to live with the updated rom and fix the colors manually. It looks like the relevant registry entries are:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\SmartDialing]
"clrNormal"=dword:00000000
"clrFLNormal"=dword:ffffff
"clrFLInvert"=dword:ffffff
"clrHI"=dword:999999
"clrMatch"=dword:cccccc
"clrFLHI"=dword:ffffffff
"clrMatchText"=dword:00ffffff
"clrInvert"=dword:00ffffff

it is found in the crossbow patch in oem\smartdial\fd8cb0c2-88b0-48c9-af95-5a224b4ec86f.rgu

so are ya done uploading it? is this a huge difference from the old version u had up, the plain "clean & simple 3.5" - does the unified kitchen improve things that much? i never had BT issues... and i can't imagine you actually got it to run faster. tha'd be sick. i love it, thanks man. and don't use vista, that's my solution.
