MSN Live Messenger

Has anyone else installed Windows Live Messenger? Mine does a DSOD if left connected to the server, just wondering if anyone else had this problem.

Whats up with the battery drain?

I'm getting ready to install this thing, but this battery drain is scaring me. What can possibly cause it with a new rom vs the oem rom. Unless with the new rom somethings always on? I don't know.

Small issues, GREAT ROM!

Jeff,

I have been experencing a huge battery drain like most.
I have a PPC-6700 and the life force is being sucked out of it.
I have also noticed a once a day lock up- might be associated with
the MiniSD - I dont know - but there is something going on when
bringing it out of sleep.
The stereo BT works great with the MOTO HT820s- even the for/rew buttons work! One thing I have noticed is that the phone always stated that the Mini SD has just been inserted, and to serch for music...EVEN WHEN IT IS STATIONARY!

THE MMS isnt up, but thats ok- just use the email account.

Other than those little irritants, THE ROM ROCKS!

Any advice you can give, pls do so.
And Please continue doing what you are doing!
IF MS would support their product like we expect them
to, we would be sitting hear chatting about how great our phones are.

Power to the people and those that share their power!

Best Regards,

Strickland

Battery Drain not significantly worse for me

Thanks Jeff for a very good ROM.

I have not experienced the battery drain probs others have. I would say this though, when usage is high, the battery does get hit hard. I went through today put in a fresh standart (1350Ma) battery at 7:00AM and now it is 7:45PM and I am showing 80% battery. Admittedly it is a light day for me, about 5 emails on my Exchange account via active sync, about 40 Gmail POP3 mails polled manually 4x today, maybe 8 calls totaling 15 mins, a few games of bubble breaker and solitaire (30 mins), 30 mins of PIE browsing and several instances of cleaning my duplicates and memory hogging apps with Memmaid.

I am running the O2 2.3 app - main memory; Agile Messenger - storage card; Memmaid - extended rom; voice command - extended rom; GmobileSync - storage card; Batti - main memory; Apache Rom Unlocker - main memory.

Perhaps keeping all the apps out of the RAM and running memmaid while shutting down all active applications does it for me.

I run my ActiveSync push 24 hours a day and as long as it is not a 50 email day, the battery seems fine. If I have a day with over an hour of phone calls, it really hammers the battery as well. I have two standard batteries and two extended 2400 batteries but it seems unnecessary..

This rom is awesome. One thing though

After installing this rom, I have to say its nearly flawless. There is absolutely no more battery drain than the norm. I made sure push email is off, I don't use it, and the I believe the IR send/ receive is off. I installed 40 programs in all. Half games and the other half programs. 99% of them run of my storage card. My phone is way more responsive now. The phone key pad is quick, not sluggish like before. I fell like I have a new phone. Jeff your awesome. One thing though is that went I test send a picture mail through mms, its sends, but I don't get it back like before. Any word on that.

Thanks again,
Tony

The battery drain seems to be related to push email. I'm still investigating, but the battery went back to normal on my phone after I changed the schedule in ActiveSync from "As items arrive" to "Every 30 minutes".

This is terrific! Installed flawlessly, installed all my programs and none are having any hiccups! While I didn't install 40 proggies, I did install over 20 and none were games. The Bluetooth works great, picked up my headset and GPS receiver instantly.

This is as good as a factory upgrade.

Question: Rather than re-install everything from the ground up, would Sprite back up be an option to re-install everything for the next time (WM6)?
