nk.nbf is the Operating System for your device. It is carrier independent--you can install it on any Apache. You just want to make sure you are not flashing any ms_.nbf or radio.nbf files as those are unique to the carrier. If you just have the nk.nbf file in there your existing extrom (which has your alltel-specific files on it) and your radio rom (also carrier specific) will not be touched so that's the way to go.

I have alltel. and any of the roms will work. i have only tried a few but i like the Alwaysbelieve1 3.5 rom the most for now.
There isnt very much info for Alltel people around. Right now you cant get MMS to work on the pc6700 from alltel. I talked to alltel and they said that all of there phones supported mms but the 6700 doesnt. This is the same for sprint and virizon users. but some very smart people cam up with MMS support for the pc6700. now sprint and virizon people have it funtioning. but alltel servers and other has not been verified. does anyone have any alltel specific data/info? |

jd,
Check out this link over at HoFo, A good guide to flashing the ROM on an alltel. It tells you what you need to install from the extended ROM too. http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1106805 I originally used the Helmi_C 3.3, but had problems with it. I am using Saridnours’ AKU v3.5pr4 sp1, it installs the same way, and already has .net 2 installed so you don't have to. The only things I noticed is that smart dialer doesn't work, you have to use a special program to do the ## codes (comes already installed) and fieldtest.exe is missing from the windows folder, so ##debug doesn't work. Good luck. |
