New to 6700, does it have GPS after 6.1 upgrade?

Well I bought a 6700 to add to my on going collection of Sprint phones. I have an addiction bad for phones and tweaking them.

So I did a search and came up with nothing. Does the 6700 have GPS? I don't think I could live without it as all my phones have it.

The 6700 only has GPS for E911. Theoretically it does have the chip, but there is NO way of accessing it for programs. It has been delved into quite a bit. Bottom line, no GPS function on the 6700.

BTW, the 6700 is NOT a bad phone. It may be showing it's age a bit, but it is still an extremely capable phone.

The battery is pretty awful but I just bought a 2400mah for $12 shipped which came with the door to.

Is there a way to make the volume in the earpiece louder? Did the Windows 6.1 upgrade to anything to make volume louder and make things more effecient?

Yeah the battery is cheap but its gotta be better than the stock one. I bought an extended battery and door for my Mogul and it lasted a ton more than the stock one.

Crap, no volume hack.

You can use the speakerphone and turn it down, I know that isnt exactly a fix but it does work. I also use a BT Motorola H5 that fits in the ear canal and does great

i was doing some research on those batteries... most of the ebay 2400mah's are 1800mah and at any rate they aren that good. Your much better spending $20-40 more and getting a Lion or a Seidio: http://www.digitalsolecism.net/2007/...ppc6700xv6700/

Re: New to 6700, does it have GPS after 6.1 upgrade?

Could someone recommend an external GPS for use with the 6700.
There was a posting a while back on external GPS but I can't find it now...
I believe it was a Holux brand blue tooth GPS that was recommended but I don't remember the model number...

Thanks...
