What BootLoader version is on your phone? The Apache isnt a ROM, it is the device you own and have in your hand. It goes my many names such as xv6700, PPC6700, Apache, ECT.

You dont 'use' BootLoader but you do enter your device in a BL state by pressing the Power+Record+Reset button which I think you know how to do but I just wanna clarify you dont 'use' BL. There is nothing wrong with your device having WM5. You will gain nothing in WM6 other than being able to say "hey, look, Ive got WM6, wow!" Not trying to be mean, but IMHO I do not think you are ready to go to WM6. The reason I say this is because many people still do have issues with WM6 and you have not soaked enough knowledge yet to go that far. You are moving too fast. You dont have your terminology correct nor the concepts and procedures.

What is your reason for wanting to go to WM6 anyway and what are you expecting?

Believe me, soon after that you will be posting a thread about

1) Can I go back to WM5 from WM6
2) Why doesnt 'so and so' work?
3) How do I go back to WM5
