6700 is dead.. advice for upgrade please - Page 2

You know "weed" for giving up your entire afternoon responding, with most of the problems fixable, you deserve a "Thanks", now "Get Back To Work!!!!!!"...lol.

Granted he again could of gotten a lemon again...but his general comments as a whole about the 67....well that is another thing, its like he was picking on my little brother and you "weed" had to defend him.

I worship my 67 (orig over 2yrs) and going to hate the day I upgrade (possible Raphael)...but we all have to someday or get left behind.

I agree that even as "old" as the device is, it is still top of the food chain by many many standards and alot of it has to do with the physical characteristics and its abilities to perform. I also will hate to move forward but the new phones have a lot of new ideas and concepts. The iPhone for example has some really nice features and some good developers have taken a lot of those ideas and incorporated them into the 6700 but the 6700 can only go so far and live so long.

I hated my Apache when I first got it -- it was much slower and clunkier than my non-phone Pocket PC, an HP rx3715. Buggy, not enough memory, etc.

Then, I learned to hack. First, I dumped the Verizon bloatware -- instant, major improvement. A few months later, I flashed a newer ROM. Then, last summer, I flashed Helmi's 6.0 ROM. Now I'm using his 6.1 ROM.

Short answer: These ROMs have given this phone a whole new lease on life. Other than the Raphael, I haven't seen anything (including the iPhone) that has even tempted me to switch. (And,i if the Raphael appeared as a world phone, I could die happy...)
