help with upgrading my xv6700 5.0

i just got my xv6700 and i want to upgrade it all the way up to 6.1 could someone help me out by telling my what to do in order by posting the thread or post links or something i just dont want to mess up and brick my pda this is my first time doing something like this.

Download and install BuildOS. Then run the updater to get the latest packages.

Hold down the power button and the record button then press the reset to put the phone in bootloader mode. Write down what version of bootloader you are using. Reset the phone.

In BuildOS, select your Cell carrier and select the version of bootloader that you have.

Now you select what to install. I would suggest starting with it stripped down. Flash it, and see how it does. If it works well, try adding a couple of programs and flash it again. Keep doing this till you have a ROM that you like and runs properly.

what do you mean by flash it. do i pull down my pants and show it my *** lol jk but i really dont know what it means sorry noob here lol

flash is the same as format and reloading the OS.

dvrman123...like the posts listed above...it is pretty easy these days.

Most issues are:
People dont read the instructions
Installed wrong bootloader
Installing to many programs
If on Vista and you are having install problems...run in XP mode and you should be fine.
