Starbucks WiFi - Only works with SD card removed?

I upgraded my 6700 to WM 6.1 using Kitchen and added in the HCSD drivers and everything went smoothly, the second time around anyway=D>. The device works great and all is as it should be. I can connect to WiFi at home or work or just driving down the street it will see multiple wireless networks that are available. BUT.... when I go into a Starbucks or It's A Grind to use the WiFi connections there the phone does not see the network. It will see the network from the businesses across the parking lot only. If I pop out the SD card...MAGIC HAPPENS and I am able to see and connect to the coffee networks (Starbucks or It's A Grind).

Does anyone know how/why this would be happening and if there is a workaround for it. It seems pretty crappy that I have to remove my memcard everytime I want to access WiFi at the coffee shop.

I personally think you have some end user issues that need to be addressed.

The "ESTO" factor was my first guess as well but I have duplicated it at 3 different locations (2 Starbucks and 1 Its A Grind). I can connect to one of the networks next door that is showing up when I am sitting in the coffee shop. I then pop out the memcard and rescan for networks and now the Starbucks location pops up and I can connect and login.

I don't suppose you have a 1 or 2GB standard card you can test with?

I wish I could be more helpful on this one, but I don't use the HDSD cards.

what apps do you have installed on the card? I ran a few wifi managing type apps like WiFi Companion, maybe it is something like that and thus when you remove the card you are moving the software trying to govern the connection

I will see if I can track down a standard miniSD card and see if I can duplicate the problems.

I do not have any apps installed on the card. I use the card for media only, but mainly for my music files. I am using the Comm Manager that is built into 6.1.
