What carrier?
Did you do a hard reset?
Did you let all the extended_rom stuff run? (Not a good idea, but a worse idea is not running any of them at all - you need to run some of em)

What does it say when you tap the Signal Strenth icon?

Go to start->settings->Phone->Services Tab->Internet and click the button to perform an IOTA. Let us know if that process runs successfully.

I think you should try one of the more recent custom ROMs as opposed to a 3.5 kitchen (which is riddled with bugs at the moment). Look at colonel or saridnour's ROM builds.

That will break it for sure

You only want a short list of the extended_rom stuff to load, not all of it. I posted the list here (somewhere - gah) and on pdaphonehome (somewhere, gaah!)

This is why you really want to understand the whole process before you jump in. I'd flash wideawakes' 2.2 rom, hard reset, and let the extended_rom stuff install, *or* read up on how to customize the extended rom, and find which cabs you need and which you don't, before you just go flashing a new OS.
