6700 Camera no worky after flash!

I flashed my 6700 with the Helmi_WM6.1 ROM and now my camera won't work anymore. The button won't do anything and when I go to my pictures and tap the camera icon the phone will try to activate it but no worky.

i have the same problem, i thought i broke it when i dropped it. i can get into the camera function but its just a black screen and i cant press to take a picture

So why dont both of you flash back to WM5 and see if that resolves the issue and help fully detemine if 6.1 is the issue. Or you could also just reflash with 6.1 to see if something went wrong the first time.

What happened is you forgot to add the camera driver in the kitchen when you cooked the rom. If you don't check the camera box when cooking the rom your camera won't work. I have been sitting here experimenting with different things and leaving the camera driver unchecked was one of them. So cook another rom and be sure to check the htc camera driver

Is there anyway to make it so I do not have to HOLD the camera button to load it so I can just "press" it (most of the buttons have dual function press and hold) the camera seems to only allow hold.

what toinejuan said. i found that out by accident too. must check the camera option.

for you nerys, IMO, why would you want the camera button to be just a press option and not the default, press and hold. i would think that almost everytime if not everytime you put the phone away or take it out, you would "accidentally" turn on the camera, maybe without knowing it, and seriously draining your battery. I am glad they were actually smart enuff to make it a press and hold feature.

Well I always turn it off before putting it away so .... I just hate having to wait SOO long to open the camera. Its slow enough waiting for the program to load the "hold" time for the button almost doubles it. I use the camera a lot its just a pain is all the BEST thing to do would have been to make it optional and default it to "hold" to load. Also another solution. Make sure the CAMERA will also "time out" and goto sleep. I mean you could accidentally hit the "web" button as you put it away too right?

Here is how you make the camera load instantly (and take better pics). You go get Cool Camera and install it and then reassign the camera button for that app and not the default OEM camera app software.
