VX 6700 Disable headphone detection

First time poster long time lurker. I'm having an issue with my VX 6700. It seems that I cannot hear anything through the earpiece on the phone. I just recently decided to use the handsfree headphones that came with the phone and I believe that somehow the phone is detecting the headphones are still plugged in when they aren't. I am wondering if anyone knows of a reghack or other way to disable this so I can once again use my phone normally. I am running the newest cooked version of 6.1. I'm just trying to avoid taking it in as it isn't under warranty and having to purchase a new one without the new service agreement discount is prohibitively expensive. Appreciate all your input in advance.

this is a very common problem when using the headphone jack you are not the only one...sometimes the jack gets stuck, which like you said makes the phone think you are using the headsets....try to insert and removing the headset plug numerous times..and maybe just maybe it will free the stuck jack.

Re: VX 6700 Disable headphone detection

Yeah thats what I tried first with no luck. I'm almost at a point of taking the thing apart. Just want to know if there is an easier way to do so.

Re: VX 6700 Disable headphone detection

a long time ago there were schematics on the head phone piece but IDK where they are know. I do not know of a reg hack due to this being a possible hardware issue and not software controlled.

Re: VX 6700 Disable headphone detection

Well thanks for all the help. Looks like Verizon is going to bless me with a replacement unit under warranty. I'm glad to see this community is so willing to help out fellow members.
