Foreman Griller
Simplified: Similar to kitchen in purpose, but all you need is your image (nk.fat) and some desired OEM packages. I'm still testing out error recovery and undo capabilities.
Usage:
*Make sure word wrap is turned off in notepad!
1. Unzip package
2. Add OEM's to OEM folder (compatible with kitchen OEM format)
3. Add your nk.fat to the root
4. call foreman.bat
optional:
5. it's recommended to verify your initflashfiles.dat before flashing your device. Problems typically appear at the end of the file and are obvious.
6. call undo.bat to reverse changes (a good backup of your nk.fat is always a better idea though).
Requirements:
BYO nk.fat
OEM packages must comply with kitchen standards (ie unicode initflashfiles, rgu's need the REGEDIT4 header, etc.)
Good things:
- works with vista (need to run as admin though)
- add as few or as many OEM's to an existing or vanilla image
- creates a consolidated registry for your changes (might be useful with restore software)
- no mysterious overhead or unnecessary processing
- doesn't require .net
- can be modified to suit one's needs
- why rebuild from scratch when all you want is to add a few more oem's to that custom you're already using or if it would be unnecessarily tedious recreating their custom rom.
Bad things:
- No shiny one button interface, it is an ugly batch file and there's really no way to pretty it up or mask that.
- All registry changes go into default.hv
- batch files can be cryptic at times
