Re: PPC 6700 Movies

What I love, and I've been doing this since I got my 6700 three years ago. you can get the core pocket media player, I have version 0.72rc1 from http://www.tcpmp.com it is free but I strongly suggest to donate to the author as this is one of the best players I've seen and I'd like to see the author write more. Next go to best buy or circuit city and get DVDcopy123 gold. it has an option to compress dvd to divx format and you can choose format on set up( I choose moble/PDA option which sets frame rate and 320/240 size). I can take a complete dvd movie and compress it down to around 195 to 250 meg depending upon the size of the movie. I have not had a single problem. I've run across a few movies that are super copy protected which cannot be converted to pocket pc, put i can get 90% of them. I have a 512 meg card and the program and the movie both are on the card. I installed it to the card. right now I have the complete movie "stranger than fiction" on there now.

I do not believe in stealing movies, I am not suggesting copy movies to share, just for personal enjoyment on any device I want to watch it on. When I buy a movie I believe I should have the right to watch it on any device I own!!!!!

Mike

Re: PPC 6700 Movies

Go here. http://www.free-codecs.com/3GP_Converter_download.htm

I have been using this converter for over a year now.

It uses a simple interface and it converts any .AVI movie to 3gp (playable by WMP Mobile or TCPMP) also gives you options for quality of conversion.

If you you need a DVD (.VOB) to 3GP Converter try google or downloads.com there are a few out there some are free.

Re: PPC 6700 Movies

After testing several converters I like Videora Ipod Converter. Then I play them on my apache with Coreplayer. I use one of the lowest settings and it still looks good. Each movie I convert I get it to be about 250MB. Not bad at all. Great for plane rides.

Re: PPC 6700 Movies

There are a hundred ways to skin this cat but I would recommend AUTOGK (free) to convert your avi or dvd's to xvid avi's (tell it to use 320x240) and then use TCPMP or Coreplayer to watch them on your phone.

And if xvid is a nightmare for you like it is me, use divx. Ripping vids to 320x240 is the most important part. Fits your screen perfectly and drastically reduces file size.
