Try dialing #832... I dunno where I saw this but I could have sworn that somebody said somwhere that this works if you have trouble having your phone authenticated. Otherwise give VZW a call from another phone and tell them the message you are recieving, they should reset you at switch level and the problem should be solved. This happened to me a while back and that is what they did to fix the problem.
