I like my phone to stay synced with network time so that its always accurite, so this was the easiest workaround for me.

I'm sure the MS patch will probably work just as well, but then we'll be going to DST even earlier next year, and I'm not sure if their patch takes that into account....

just go to settings/phone/services/time sync. you may have to tap it a couple of times or wait, but it will sync.

not sure badwolf. Since I don't see a lot of people complaining about this I would tend to lean toward a hardware issue. Safest thing to do in these situations ( and I know it sucks) is to go back to the Official Update and run it for a while to see if you have the same issues.

Probably doesn't take that into account. It would be near impossible to know when DST kicks in without having it pre-programmed in. Of course the easy way would be to just have it synchronize with a time server automatically as XP or Vista does.

We're not *really* going to DST earlier next year. It's the 2nd Sunday in March "from now on." (Or, of course, until they change their minds again.)

Granted, next year it's March 9th, and this year it's March 11th, (and yes, that is technically earlier) but DST has had that kind of fluctation since its inception.

So, I'm sure their patch takes that into account.

Yep... "2nd Sunday in March" (and "1st Sunday in November") is all that is needed to calculate the correct date from here to eternity. Unlike Easter, which takes a masters degree to figure out each year.

Easter falls on the first Sunday following the first ecclesiastical full moon (the 14th day of a tabular lunation), that occurs on or after the day of the vernal equinox, which is "fixed" as March 21st.

I think it takes a couple of different masters degress... =)
