I installed the ROM and everything works great. I went to use DUN last night and I could not for the life of me get it working. I was using 3.3 just fine with the Wireless Modem but with this new Internet Sharing crap I can't get it going.

I launch Internet Sharing, Connect my USB cable, hit connect and it asks to install the driver. Tried 3 different drivers (Vista Ultimate 32 Bit) and it will not recognize the phone.

There are times it goes connected but it won't dial out through my laptop and then there are times where it just sits at Check USB cable connection.

Any ideas?

Bryan
By any chance did you disable active sync on the computer before you plugged it in. (you do this by right clicking on active sync, click connections and uncheck "allow usb connection". also for computers that dont have active sync i think you need this registry entry on your phn. This just got posted and i am about to try it. make sure you do above first before trying this so we can eliminate issues.
Registry Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of the Value to add: MTU Type : DWORD Data: 1514 (Value is Decimal)
Registry Sub Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\FunctionDrivers\RND IS]
Name of Value to add: MaxOutTransfer Type: DWORD Data: 1642 (Value is Decimal)

I disabled Vista's Sync crap. Made sure that USB connections were disabled. I will check those keys and report back after I finish ghosting my laptop. Thanks naigaboy.

Ok... I opened ActiveSync on my device, went to Menu/Connections, and unchecked the checkbox. Then I opened the USB to PC app but I still got the error message "Failed to disable RNDIS to use Serial."

Does this really work for you on this ROM? I did a little research and found this solution on .xda-developers wich may work for some, but not me it seems:
--------------------
bacsig:
Delete all assigned COM ports, and try again. (Start \ System \ Connection \ Bluetooth \ COM Ports)
--------------------

I tried your sugestion and the one above while in Spb PocketPlus' "Safe Mode" but got the same result.

Also, I was mistaken before, I tried again and noticed the ActiveSyncMode.sa that I posted previously and it does not install on my device. Installation just instantly exits and says "unsuccessful." I must have missed that the first time, which explains why it never showed up in the Programs folder.

EDIT: forgot to mention that I of course stopped all apps (including ActiveSync) from the Running Programs List while in Safe Mode.

Just did a Hard Reset and I still can not disable advanced network functionality.

Either it's something in my ext-rom or it's the AKU

EDIT: Ok, I ruled out the ext-rom too... (Hard Reset, Soft Reset before ext-rom customizations)

I can't be the only one with this problem.

It's a known issue with AKU 3.5. Not fixed as of yet.

Finally got around to checking out what you posted. Not sure if you are running Vista or not, but I am.

When I go into HKLM there is no Drivers Key. I searched through the registry and there is also no Drivers Key.

This is also my findings on my XP Pro box at work.

I also could not find an RNDIS key.

Plugged the phone in, fired up Internet Sharing, clicked Connect, EVDO starts to connect on my phone and then disconnects with the following message:

Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To change your connection settings, tap Settings

Hit Dismiss, Click Connect again and under status it tells me to Check USB cable connection.

Device Manager does not show it installed as a modem as it did when I used Wireless Modem with AKU 3.3 and below.

Created a new connection to dial out #777 and still did not work.

Went back into Device Manager and it is showing that it is an unknown device. I tried to install the modem driver (that installed just fine with Wireless Modem) and that did not work. I then tried a driver found over @ XDA and that did not work...

I'm going to have to flash back to 3.3 if I can't get this working by tomorrow at Noon, and I really don't want to have to do it
