going to voice mail to fast

is there a way to increase how many rings the phone gets before it goes to voice mail? I put my own ring on which is 29 sec long but after only 5 sec I get miss call and a voice mail if left.....

do a search for SCI which stands for Slot Cycle Index... there are detailed instructions here are the site...

The SCI was to increase how often the phone polls to the tower to make sure you DONT miss a call. When I has Sprint they were able to increase the number of rings before it went to VM on thier side. I am with VZW now and I do not know about them but it is worth a try to call them and see.
