I love my apache and recommend it if you like windows. Its different from Palm OS. I wouldnt go with the 700p myself. I would lean towards the 6700 instead of the 700w/wx simply because it has wifi, bigger keyboard, bigger screen, and so on. Dont get me wrong the wx has its advantages.....the choice is urs. Oh and as for support the 6700 forum is the biggest here! Also if your going with a new contract preferredsourcing is a great seller! Its where I got mine.

Hello and welcome to the forum!
I really like my PPC6700 and all the cool support and hacks you can find for it here. If you like the PalmOS, then get the 700p. If you like the Windows Mobile then get the PPC6700, same reasons as Wideawake. |

Bantis,
welcome to the forum. I'm entwined in a love / hate relationship with my Sprint ppc-6700 but it seems to be more sprints incpoentent falut than the device. I would reccomend, if you could (and that is one big if...) wait for the 6800, the 6700 is scheduled to go end of life soon which means you wont be able to buy them (i cant imagine this would be the case untill the 6800 comes out, but hey it could happen) and they will stop activly supporting it (patches, updates, the like). So I would defently say its a hard choice. If you like to one hand, you might be more comfortable with a 700w/wx but you will have to get used to turning on the key lock. I, find it difficult to type on my phone with a large keyboard on handed, but I wont give up the big keyboard either. X

6700 = cheap thrills (with rebate and $150 off w/contract, $250-$300)
6800 = full price ($550? so $400 w/2 year contract?) If it were me (and it was - I got my 6700 end of October) I'd get the cheaper one, skip the 6800, and get the one after it Dunno what the 700wx runs cost wise, but I think its also not going to cost as much as the 6800 and is also a good choice - I prefer a larger screen/keyboard & wifi of the 6700. This forum will take better care of you then sprint will, btw. |

I got mine through Business Retention. I'm currently using a 700p and I can assure you, it was NEVER supported. In fact, more Treos came to market instead; it's as though there was no love (ever) for the 700p or it's users. Letters have been written. petitions signed; all to no avail. Someone from Palm (his name escapes me right now) responded to the letter saying that there will be fixes for the 700p - well, that was several months ago and the 700p is over a year old now..... Go figure! Myself, I have been a Treo user since the 600; it had it's bugs too. We received more help through forums and back then, when the 600 / 650 needed a fix, one was provided. It was for that reason I stayed. Lately, I am not feeling all that loyal but for a long time I was afraid of moving to a platform I know nothing about. I had turned it over several times in my head to get a PPC-6700, and as of this pastFriday, I made the switch. In terms of custom roms and the like, I think I'll wait until I become familair with the OS before attempting to turn it into a paper weight! Good luck with your new 6700; I have a feeling you'll like it. |

I'm so giddy right now; I might faint
Viewing this forum right now on my PPC-6700 while using my Think Outside Sierra Bluetooth Keyboard! Once I made up my mind to get the 6700, I whipped out my VISA and started buying things to go with it. Imagine my surprise when UPS delivered everything on the same day at the same time! Wait, I take that back - Amazon hasn't sent my bluetooth mouse yet I've told others that I think they will have a lot of fun using their 6700; I'm having a ball. Still not sure yet though how I install .cabs to it; but I'm sure someone here will help me out. |
