So I would defently say its a hard choice. If you like to one hand, you might be more comfortable with a 700w/wx but you will have to get used to turning on the key lock. I, find it difficult to type on my phone with a large keyboard on handed, but I wont give up the big keyboard either.

Sprint's PPC-6700 can still be bought; even though it's already considered end of life. Prices vary depending on which route you go in terms of purchasing one.
I got mine through Business Retention.
I'm currently using a 700p and I can assure you, it was NEVER supported. In fact, more Treos came to market instead; it's as though there was no love (ever) for the 700p or it's users.
Letters have been written. petitions signed; all to no avail. Someone from Palm (his name escapes me right now) responded to the letter saying that there will be fixes for the 700p - well, that was several months ago and the 700p is over a year old now.....
Go figure!
Myself, I have been a Treo user since the 600; it had it's bugs too. We received more help through forums and back then, when the 600 / 650 needed a fix, one was provided. It was for that reason I stayed.
Lately, I am not feeling all that loyal but for a long time I was afraid of moving to a platform I know nothing about. I had turned it over several times in my head to get a PPC-6700, and as of this pastFriday, I made the switch.
In terms of custom roms and the like, I think I'll wait until I become familair with the OS before attempting to turn it into a paper weight!
Good luck with your new 6700; I have a feeling you'll like it.
