When will we see Windows Mobile 6 on the HTC Apache?

I realize that if someone knew, there would already be a thread about this. But because I am the eternal optimist, I will ask: does anyone know when we will see Windows Mobile 6 on the HTC Apache?

On the topic of Windows Mobile 6 on other devices, does anyone know if some of the problems with Windows Mobile 6 have been rectified on other platforms? The item that stuck out the most was that people could not get the built-in SIP client to work. This is the biggest reason that I am interested in Windows Mobile 6. I would love to use the same phone at home, on the road, and at work, where we use our VoIP system.

Should have gone with your gut instinct

There is no ETA. Any efforts that would have been made are in the embryonic stages at this point.

And with Microsoft's death blow to xda-developers, you can expect the whole process to take even longer.

And HTC has indicated that it has no plans to officially offer WM6 upgrades to users.

I'd say enjoy AKU 3.5 for a good long while.

Darn.

I really wish that Microsoft would leave well enough alone. Right now, they can see everything that is happening and offer guidance. (i.e. I read that XDA Developers has removed pre-release things in the past, at Microsoft's request.) Now, it is just going to go underground. It will still happen, but now Microsoft will be less in the loop.

Ugh.

Is there a comparison somewhere between AKU 3.3 and AKU 3.5? I noticed a fully working version of AKU 3.5 for the HTC Apache has been released, and I am mulling over it.

Thanks for your advice thus far.

Some new icons and probably some bug fixes. That's all we know. Microsoft is not very forthcoming with information about AKU releases, probably becasue we are not their customers--the device manufacturers and mobile carriers are. Hopefully that will change in the future.

I agree with what Malatesta said, since WM6 is on ver. 5.2, existing code should be able to work easier than a full fledged release (e.g. WM2003 - WM5). However, what do I know, it's purely speculation what I just said.
